  • Bible and It's Importance!

Today, I returned to my Sunday School Class.  From June through July, I have been out of town or the person I interpret for was out of town.  Fortunately, my Sunday School Class was awesome.  I love them because there is no judgement and they understand I am serving my family or my church family.  I guess summer is that way all over.  LOL

Anyway, back to today's lesson.......The class today was about the Bible and it's importance.  It was an interesting class, because our teacher wanted to know where the Bible came from???  Great question!!!  I told my teacher that was an easy question, because it came from God!  He agreed, but he said how was it put together and who put it together.  This is when the discuss started.

Was this book man made or was it inspired by God?  Everyone in our class believes the Bible was put together by men, who were inspired by God.

Then someone said, but was it always written. The answer to this was NO! It was spoken by God Himself and then it was told to generation after generation.  In order for this book to be written, then it would have to be inspired by God, because of the time frames it was written in and by the fact it was written by several people.

Then because it was spoken, a person in my class said, "God doesn't speak to us the same way He did in the Old Testament."  I thought this was interesting, because it was almost as though this person believes God doesn't speak to us any more.

When I read the Old Testament, I find myself wondering how wonderful it must have been for God to be walking in the cool of the garden and talking with man.  Or to have God's hand cover you in the crevice of a rock, so you could see the back side of God and His glory pass by.  It must have been wonderful.

In the end, I find myself wishing I can speak to God the way Moses or Adam did.  Then I realize God does speak to me every day.  He speaks through songs, answering prayers, through other people, or receiving a wonderful note from someone who may be a friend or someone you have just met.  God speaks to us daily and I am grateful to be His child and have these conversations daily.

What has God said to you lately???

  • God Is Great!

This year has been a difficult year; however, God has seen us through.  I am amazed how much He loves us.  I don't know why I am amazed, but I am.

I was moved from one place where I loved the people I worked with to another building.  At first I didn't want to be there and actually was trying to figure out how to quit my job.  In the end, I spent a lot of time in prayer and came to realize I was just where God needed me.  I ended up getting help myself, so I could pass some of my college classes.

God knew what he was doing; however, we as His children still try to question it.  We think we know what is best for us, but the reality is, we have no clue.  Once I finished fighting the Lord, I found myself achieving so much and feeling great about this move.

How many times do we fight the Lord because we don't agree with what the Lord has planned for us.  It says in Jeremiah, that He knows the plans for us and he doesn't want to hurt us but to prosper us.  If we just remember this and not fight Him, then life would be so much easier.
